NEWS & INSIGHTS
November is Osteoporosis Awareness Month
Did you know 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men will be affected by osteoporosis in their lifetime?
Osteoporosis is a condition that causes bones to become thin and porous. It decreases their strength and increases the risk of a fracture, which is most likely to occur in the wrist, spine, shoulder and hip. It is often called the “silent thief” because bone deterioration occurs without symptoms until it becomes fractured.
Healthy bones and muscles are critical to healthy living. At MyHealth Centre, our bone and muscle diagnostic services include:
- Bone Mineral Density
- Bone Scan
- Bone X-ray
- Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
